Beginner Blogger Here!

I have finally entered the wonderful world of blogging even though I have no idea what I will be blogging about.  Usually the thoughts in my head end up making sense to only myself & sometimes my husband so this should be interesting.

I'll start my first post about something I love...no it's not going to be about my dog Fergie (yes the title is named after her deliciousness) but don't you worry because there will be plenty of posts about her in the very near future.  No this will be about running, a new hobby I have come to enjoy so very much.

I began running in August on the first day that the weather showed signs of cooling off.  Unfortunately the weather played a nasty little trick on me because it only lasted 2 days.  I had to start off running on my treadmill while watching action packed movies.  Motivational technique of course.  Running sprint intervals once a week has now turned into running 3+ miles 3 days a week!  Why would anyone choose to do this?  Because I signed up to participate in a 5K in October to support the Denton Animal Shelter so the training was a must.  And to prove what a wonderful wife I am, I volunteered my husband to join me for this glorious challenge.  He wasn't as excited as I was but is he ever?

If you know me at all, then you know I'm a bit of a competitor.  It should come as no surprise that running in a 5K has put me into full on competition mode.  There is an indescribable feeling that one has when running with hundreds of others and I'm now addicted to the rush I got every time I passed someone!

I only hope that once the dreadful summer heat comes back to haunt me that I can keep the training going.  There is very little coordination required when running outside compared to running on a treadmill (If you have ever fallen off a treadmill then you feel my pain).

With any luck, this new exercise addiction means I might possibly be able to fit into my old jeans again.  Perhaps I should remove them from the trunk of my car since I'm clearly never going sell them to Plato's Closet.  They've only been in there for 6 months!  This had to of been my plan the whole time.
